Egypt national teammates Essam El-Hadary and Mostafa Fathi have joined Saudi Professional League side Al-Taawoun FC.
El-Hadary, 44, moves on from Egyptian club Wadi Degla after a two-year spell.
Fathi’s move was perhaps more surprising. The 22-year-old Zamalek winger was considered by many to be a promising prospect, and important to the club’s future plans.
The deal is for a one-year loan, but with an option to make it permanent.
